Students who will have completed this one-day face-to-face course will have been introduced to the concept of sports dentistry and explored the evolving role of the sports dentist. They will have looked at the role that the sports dentist can play within the sports medicine team, as well as how to work alongside elite athletes, including learning: whether to consider athletes differently to any other patient; the role that the dentist can play in elite sport; understanding emergency trauma; the role of nutrition in the care of athletes.
